mini colony sectors

1. Section one of the mini-colony is home to the A.S.I. (Aeronautical Study Institute). The building is large, unassuming, and colorless. There are no windows and a single door at the front. Entry requires a retinal scan, and admittance is granted to anyone who approaches. Inside, there are crafts from many origins and in varying states of repair. Explore. Ask questions. The environment is something akin to a museum. The main attraction is a life-sized replica of a ship that is very similar to the Moira. It is labeled as Living Power: is it dangerous or not? 2. Section two of the mini-colony is home to the political campaigning site of Ras. Ras, who wears a three-piece suit every day and can be seen on different billboards and signs, is campaigning to be the mini-colony’s first president. While about twenty percent of the population desire the leadership and cohesion, the rest do not. Ras, however, remains vigilant at all times. His campaign quarters is bustling with people coming in and out, and he’s looking for fresh faces to support him. 3. UNKNOWN 4. Section four of the mini-colony is home to the Mini-Colony’s orphanage. Here, as it would seem, children of all ages and species call this place their temporary home and adoptive parents are constantly being searched for. The process is relatively simple. A person meets the children and when a connection is made, an agent meets with them together and does a few tests to gauge for compatability. Adoptions occur in under a day. Will your character visit the children? Act as an older sibling and take them out for a fun time before bringing them back? Is your character looking to adopt? 5. Section five of the mini-colony is home to the C.I.S.M. (Cease Intergalactic Slavery Movement). Set up in a series of large white tents that line the streets and block entrance to most buildings and homes here, this movement is responsible for the signs and billboards across the colony that demand the end of slavery. These people, for the most part, lack true leadership or guidance, meaning that their actions have previously not strayed from flyers and mild protests. With a proper figure head, the sheer numbers they have would be enough to cause trouble for a large portion of the civilians on the mini-colony. Will you speak to them? Or be the leader they need? 6. Section six of the mini-colony is, for the most part, relatively empty. There are a few buildings, rundown and not well cared for, and there is a single pathway along the water’s edge. One of these buildings, the most rundown, has a sign painted above the door that reads, You can see my love from space.. The door is closed, and the open/closed sign is flipped to closed. There isn’t any description of the building or what’s inside anywhere to be found. 7. Section seven of the mini-colony is three standard wooden docks that line the large purple river that flows through the area. Dock one is a popular hangout for younger natives and tourists, hover boards are used, and it’s quite difficult to hear over all the noise. Docks two and three are reserved, corded off, and guarded. A business, Leer’s Boat Tours, offers guests rides through the canals; all manner of trips are available. If you are exploring, looking for someone or something, or want a leisurely cruise, Leer will take you for a decent sum. 8. Section eight of the mini-colony is the Runoff’s branch of Link’d Inc (more information found here). Similar to what the planet that had been dedicated to this corporation was, here any manner of matchmaking and arranged marriages can occur. There is one difference that is noticeable to anyone reading a pamphlet or watching one of the videos projected in the waiting rooms: here you can purchase a spouse that suits your needs (they are bought slaves). If you’re looking for a spouse, love, or a fun night, you may find it here. If you are looking to sabotage their business, something tactful would be required. If you want an insider’s perspective, ask your fellow Moiran, Benjamin Link. 9. Section nine of the mini-colony is home to The Ferris Wheel of Fate. The large ride is situated by the edge of the purple river and requires no payment to board. Up a ramp and through a door, the attendant will seat between one and five passengers into each car; there are no stipulations other than no more than five. When each car is filled and ready, the door will shut and the ride will start. Soft whirring signals the beginning, and blue swirls of light will begin to move in and around you. Within minutes, everything around you disappears except for the light, and flashes of gold and violet will form shapes in front of you. What will you see? When the ride reaches completion, some passengers will find that they’ve switched cars. Sitting across, or beside you, might be someone brand new. Will you speak to them? Why did fate bring you together? 10. Section ten of the mini-colony is one of the main centers for transportation, both public and private. Here you can find the rail system which will take passengers all over the mini-colony. Private cars may be rented or buses for larger groups. A highlighted feature in this area is the underwater system that starts on land and submerges a few minutes in; you can see all manner of creatures and underwater vegetation through the windows. The water is a darker purple the lower the car goes, and the entire experience lasts about an hour. 11. Section eleven of the mini-colony is stuck between the transportation hub and the marina, meaning that it has bits of both but larger focus of its own. There are, however, a number of small, privately owned businesses and shops lining one street, and one building is simply titled, Earth. The printed sign below states that the shop is closed, but that anyone looking to come in can press the button and leave a message. 12. Section twelve of the mini-colony is the location of the Marina. Live the life of the rich and famous for a day or two, sip champagne, and rent a yacht or sailboat and spend a day out on the water. Bump elbows with the wealthiest patrons in the yacht club and feast on dark purple crustaceans and deep gold-colored caviar. While this area is known for sailing and fine dining, the people here love to gamble. Small rooms in the back of club are set up for high-stakes poker games. Are you looking to make some cash or gossip with those that know what’s going on? Here’s the place for it. 13. Section thirteen of the mini-colony houses a privately owned heli-pad and aeroplane runway. A large sign is at the backdrop that reads Survival Retreat, and in a small booth at its foot sits an attendant who will offer a booklet that explains the details of the retreat. There are two packages available: a two day tour and a week long tour. Simply, as the title of the retreat suggests, survival is the name of the game. WIth the two day package, you will be given one knife and a temperature-resistant uniform, and the week long package allows you the same items except you have the option to switch out the uniform for a gun. When your tour starts, you arrive at the heli-pad and leave all your own belongings behind. From here, you will be flown to a separate stadium; an enclosed structure that resembles the wilderness and be told to survive until your time is up. What you aren’t told is that there are others in the stadium with you and those people have signed up for the Hunting Retreat. Good luck. 14. Section fourteen of the mini-colony houses a privately owned marina with a single black boat stationed there. A large sign is at the backdrop that reads Hunting Retreat, and in a small booth at its foot sits an attendant who will offer a booklet that explains the details of the retreat. There are two packages available: a two day tour and a week long tour. Simply, as the title of the retreat suggests, hunting is the name of the game. With the two day package, you will be given one knife and a temperature-resistant uniform, and the week long package allows you the same items except you have the option to switch out the uniform for a gun. When your tour starts, you arrive at the marina and leave all your own belongings behind. From here you will be taken to a separate stadium; an enclosed structure that resembles the wilderness and be told to hunt until your time is up. What you aren’t told is that there are others in the stadium with you and those people have signed up for the Survival Retreat. Will you take part? Will you help them? Good luck. 15. Section fifeteen of the mini-colony is home to West Leslie’s Fish Market and Creatatorium. Fish of all kinds may be purchased here, alive or dead, cooked or raw; squid, octopus, caviar, etc. More notable is the Creatatorium set up along the river’s edge. You may buy a one day pass or a week long all inclusive pass; the latter gets you a hat and a t-shirt! Inside this building you will be guided from enclosure to enclosure, and see water-based creatures of all shapes and sizes from all across the universes. This area is designed to be a tourist trap; you can purchase fish-shaped popsicles and balloons, even pet some of the more docile creatures. How close will you get? 16. UNKNOWN 17. Section seventeen of the mini-colony is home to the outdoor all robotic petting zoo. Entrance is free to anyone who lives on the colony, and all visitors must pay for entrance with an offering of something metallic that can be recycled and used as replacements for the pets. Inside, horses, dogs, goats, chickens, cats, and owls may be found here, among others. They all possess the personality of the animal they are likened after and are friendly. These animals are also available for immediate purchase. Are you just visiting or here to adopt? 18. UNKNOWN 19. Section nineteen of the mini-colony is known as the Religious District. There are several temples, but the largest and most eye-catching belongs to the practitioners of the Olmec Religion. The temple is carved from volcanic stone that has been transported from a neighboring planet and built into a slightly reflective and huge building. Ornate steps lead to the archway and visitors are asked to remove all shoes and weapons before entering. Inside, an attendant explains that the religion is closely related to shamanism, (your character may or may not recognize these) and that the most popular god for the Olmec people was a jaguar god of rain and fertility (although some theories say there was no main god, but eight separate, equally important gods.) Various sacrifices, like blood and jade figures are made to the gods here at an altar at the center, as well as a number of ritualistic dances, they wear masks, occur all throughout the temple. Olmec priests inhale some form of hallucinatory drug in order to help them communicate with the spirits and offer it, with fair warning, to anyone who wishes to communicate with them. Do you go along for the journey or do you turn them down? 20. Section twenty of the mini-colony is residential housing, typically for those who live and work permanently on the colony. There are children playing in yards, all varieties of species, and adults sit out on porches to talk with the neighbors. This center of the alien suburb is tucked back in, and the only entrance is through a run down, dimly lit alleyway; this is here to deter a larger number of tourists from coming into their home zone. Passing this alleyway, you’ll notice that there is music and the loud din of talking voices echoing towards you. 21. UNKNOWN 22. Section twenty-two of the mini-colony has the purple river on one side and the stadium on the other. There is a large expanse of open area that has yet to be utilized for any particular function. As it hasn’t been transformed into anything with a purpose, a small group of homeless individuals have taken over the area. There are small tents and fires, the atmosphere for the most part seems to be friendly and overall, very welcoming. 23. Section twenty-three of the mini-colony is home to the Runoff Flyers, one of the main sports teams in this part of the universe. Their game is similar to football, only violence and death is allowed and encouraged. There are numerous signs posted stating that there is a tournament this week and a game against a neighboring team every night. Outside one of the training buildings, there are a few agents looking for last minute recruits. 24. Section twenty-four of the mini-colony is mostly comprised of a walkway that has a sports stadium on one side and a petting zoo on the other. Entry to both can’t be found here, but this walkway is often crowded and busy as people bustle to and from work and for leisure activities. Along this walkway you’ll find a chain link fence that is abruptly located between two buildings and seems to have no true purpose other than that there are thousands of little keys tied on by purple thread. There is a small sign attached to the top that says, Take One Key. The Door Will Find You. 25. Section twenty-five of the mini-colony is home to the Ingress honoring park, Upside Down and Inside Out. Gravity here, within this small, green and beautifully landscaped park, makes no sense to the standard visitor. Flowers move whether the wind blows or not, fluctuating in and out, and the water in the ponds and fountains flow upward into the sky. Visitors find themselves walking along paths that spiral up and around and are able to wave at a passerby walking in an entirely different direction. High five someone below you, swim through the small crystalline pool that isn’t bound by the normal rules of gravity. Journey through the park and stand inside the replica of an Ingress that stands fifty feet in the air but couldn’t be seen from outside the park. Do you get lost in here, or can you find your way out? 26. Section twenty-six of the mini-colony is the Financial District. Unfortunately, you’ve found yourself in the most boring, dull, and lifeless area of the mini-colony. It’s a necessary feature, wealth needs managed, but there isn’t much to see or do if you aren’t fiscally challenged or looking to create a savings and credit account. However, these people work through the transfer of their client’s wealth from their offices to secure locations, and since this is a dangerous job, they are constantly hiring. If you need to make a quick buck, and they pay very well, or are looking for something else of worth, you may get it here in exchange for the successful transfer of wealth from one place to another. Will you sign on, or will you try something a little more adventurous, like taking this wealth without permission? 27. Section twenty-seven of the mini-colony is home to Office Eleven and Twelve. These offices are notoriously known around the mini-colony by their owners alone. The employees who work here clock in on Monday morning and leave on Friday evening. Both buildings are identical, and each floor is rumored to hold two competing businesses. Visitors, if they are bold enough, are allowed once during their time here to pick a single building to visit. Which do you choose? Eleven or Twelve. Or will you walk away? 28. Section twenty-eight of the mini-colony is home to the headquarters of Mil Tres, a longtime rival of Ela Monteal (a man who makes a profit from slavery and crime). Mil is known for being ruthless and cold, and his only purpose in life is to cut off Ela in every way that he can. Visitors here will be immediately taken to Mil, where they will be given work for one day, which he’ll personally assign. The tasks may be relatively easy, and can be denied if the visitor chooses. If you take the task you will get a boon and good favor. If you leave, nothing happens. Which will you choose? 29. Section twenty-nine of the mini-colony is home to the LunaBelle, a restaurant that offers excitement with every meal. The waiting list here is years long and getting in is nearly impossible unless there is a cancellation. If you stand outside the entrance, you can watch videos on giant screens that show how you receive your meal. Diners are strapped into chairs beside one another and raised in the air, after they are guided down tracks way outside this sector they reach a beautiful waterfall. Still suspended, their seats are guided up to a table and they are served a five course gourmet meal by robotics while their feet dangle in the edge of the waterfall. Cancellations are rare, but they happen. Will you beg for a seat, or keep on going? 31. Section thirty-one of the mini-colony is, as it is easy to tell by the sights and smells, a crammed together and very busy food market. Handmade crepes and waffle cone stands litter every corner, and meat on sticks, though what kind is unknown, is available at every turn. No matter what delicacy you wish to sample, finding it is easy here. Are you adventurous and have a strong palate? If so, this is the place for you. A vendor in a wide and lit stall, offers small round treats for a hefty sum. He tells you that he’s mastered the sense of taste and that each treat is made from the very same ingredients. However, each person who samples his dessert will find that it tastes like their favorite food. How is this possible? Is it magic or something else? Do you buy it and sample for yourself or keep moving? If you indulge, what do you tell him after? 32. Section thirty-two of the mini-colony is an area packed with many different shops that specialize in the sale of unique creatures. One such shop sells eggs that, when hatched, are genetically modified to be small water dragons. They hum a soft song when happy, and while they appear transparent, are quite solid when touched. These pets eat primarily vegetables and are pleasant and friendly. If you choose to enter this shop, you’ll notice a door at the back and sounds coming from the other side that sound similar to something crying. Do you knock on this door and/or enter, or do you head back into the shop to purchase a few eggs? 33. Section thirty-three of the mini-colony is home to the largest Cryonics facility in any of the universes in this area. Their research is largely experimental and heavily-funded by private donors. Their main building takes up nearly this entire section and is comprised of hundreds of floors both above ground level and below. Visitors may go on tours; one such tour takes through the floor of longevity. This floor has glass on both sides and shows the encased figures of people that have agreed to be put in stasis for any amount of time over fifty years. Their earliest client dates back six hundred years ago and has another three hundred years on their cycle. 34. Section thirty-four of the mini-colony is home of the Resurrection Machine. This machine is known for possessing the ability to bring anything dead placed inside it back to life (animal, human, plant, etc.). The science behind the machine is kept secret, but anyone can apply to be given access to the machine. It’s expensive, and requires the owner’s experts to examine what it is you want resurrected. The process is quick and is successful almost one-hundred percent of the time. Daily, when the first sun is at the highest point, a demonstration is performed for anyone who stops by to watch. Will your character apply or stop by for the demonstration? 35. Section thirty-five of the mini-colony is a combination of residences, businesses, and black booths lining the streets that resemble these. The words across the top say Memory Removal & Editing. Inside, a simple scan of the person will show on the screen any memory that person has experienced from birth until that moment. Those memories can be viewed, edited, and removed. For an extra fee, they can be altered so that the person remembers a happier or sadder experience. Will your character enter? If so, will they hit the button to pay the extra fee to alter a memory? 36. Section thirty-six of the mini-colony is home to twin islands, Forwards & Backwards. Paying for passage will get your character a ride on a small boat out onto the purple water. The driver will stop midway and then offer to drive the rider around before taking them back. 37. UNKNOWN 38. Section thirty-eight, and thirty-nine, of the mini-colony is home of the Science and Engineering district. Thirty-eight specifically boasts the creation of Nanotechnology. This large corporation developed something called the nanowand, a device that can manipulate atoms to build anything you want within minutes. The wand isn’t available for purchase, but those who are interested can go through a test to see if they are compatible with the technology. Will your character stop in and sign up for the test? Are they interested in a technology that can create anything simply by inputting the desired outcome into the device? 39. Section (38 and) thirty-nine of the mini-colony is home of the Science and Engineering district. Thirty-nine specifically is known for being the home base of Life After Death; the founder created a mind scanner that is implanted into a person’s brain starting at birth. When the user dies, their entire ‘self’ is uploaded into a virtual world so that loved ones and even strangers can visit them after death. Those who have the implants installed after birth require a six month installation period where all their previous memories and experiences are uploaded; if the person dies before this period is up, then the virtual representation won’t be accurate. Your character can take tours of the facility, visit the virtual world and speak to those who live there (and who continue to grow and experience as if they were still alive), and/or sign up to have the implant installed. Which does your character choose? 40. Section forty of the mini-colony has two main businesses; one for selling custom-made hover crafts and the other is for something called, Pay for Exchange. Both hold their own appeals, and looking into the second, you’ll discover that for a hefty price, characters can swap out and live inside of the body of someone else for one day. These bodies are custom made as well to whatever specifications asked of them. Characters bodies will be placed in a holding station until the day is up and then consciousness is swapped back. The experience is said to be disorienting at first, but the twenty-four hour period isn’t up until you leave the facility. When your character sees these buildings, will they go inside one or both? Will they want to swap their bodies? 41. Section forty-one of the mini-colony is a small set up of beautiful homes, where the house at the center is clearly the focal point. The owner, a seemingly kind and generous man, lives in the middle, and all of his employees and slaves live in the houses around. All are well-dressed and well-kept, and his staff numbers into the hundreds. Visitors are allowed to walk through this area and enjoy the view. 42. Section forty-two of the mini-colony is home to ‘labor and security’ for hire. Here, bodyguards and general labors can be hired for any length of time to do any kind of work. Contracts are drafted and payments are made, then you’ll be on your way. There isn’t much to do here except explore, and on your journey you’ll pass a building that is windowless but has three doors that don't open. 43. Section forty-three of the mini-colony is a miniature replica of the popular Homidrome in the Runoff. Here, fighters of all caliber, strength, and sizes sign themselves up to compete in often gruesome sports. Competitions range from one on one to one against many, the largest the number of fighters, the higher the reward. Some competitors enter by choice and others are bought slaves who are forced into the arena. Sign ups are available for all. Does your character choose to sign up to fight? If so, which competition to they sign up to participate in? 44 - 47 UNKNOWN 48. Section forty-eight of the mini-colony is corded off from all sides, guards patrolling the perimeter at all times. From afar, it appears to be a settlement of residences or businesses, and people can be seen walking around and living their lives. The only odd thing is, however, that no matter what a person says or does, the people inside the cordon don’t react; they cannot see or hear them. If your character approaches the front gate, a guard will tell them that if they pay a fee, they can enter the Pocket Universe inside. A specific set of clothes and guidelines will be given to your character and they will be allowed to enter for one hour. Does your character go in? 49. Section forty-nine of the mini-colony is home to an establishment called Madame Corine’s. The building is quaint, painted a deep maroon, and decorated on the outside by thousands of sculpted, painted, and dressed figurines. The greeter at the door, an older woman wearing equally old-fashioned clothes, will guide each character onto a platform where they will be shrunk down to about a foot tall. This allows all patrons to be able to enter and experience Madame Corine’s. The inside is just as eclectically set up, and your character will soon discover that this place is something of a doll maker’s shop. Your character can order a life-sized replica or mini version of themselves or someone else to be made; it only takes an hour. Will your character explore the shop? Will they buy a doll? |
